About Me
Hello! I’m Jill, and I create hand drawn pet portraits from my studio near Madison, Wisconsin.
I use colored and graphite pencils, charcoal sticks, and pastels, on a variety of either black, white or gray paper.
Throughout my life I’ve loved drawing.
But, it wasn’t until my college commercial art program, that I was introduced to many different styles and mediums.
I fell in love with illustration, life drawing, and portraiture.
Art for me, is about capturing the essence of a subject, and being able to convey an emotional response. A completed piece should always speak to the soul of the person who commissioned the work.

About Commissions
What are some Pet Portrait Details?
- A Jill Original Art is based in the United States and does not ship overseas at this time.
- Each Pet Portrait is hand drawn by Jill.
- Portraits do not include framing or matting.
- High quality materials are used to create A Jill Original Art Pet Portraits.
- Artwork commissions must be mutually agreed upon before a commission is verified.
What kind of photos are accepted?
- Only photographs of pets are accepted for hand drawn pet portraits.
- A high resolution or clear quality photograph of your pet is required for portraits.
- Photos are to be mutually agreed upon between Jill and the client before a commission is verified.
Pet Portrait Sizes & Prices
- Pet Portraits are offered in sizes of 9×12 for $60 & 11×14 for $75.
- Packaging is included in the prices for both sizes.
- Shipping via UPS within the continental United States is an additional cost of $25.
Portrait Options
- Mediums used are graphite pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, and pastel.
- Paper color choices come in white, gray, or black.
- Overall portrait design options are discussed within a Consultation.
Shipping Details
- It takes 4 weeks once an order is received to when the finished portrait is shipped.
- Portraits are appropriately packaged and shipped through UPS.
- You will be notified by email when your portrait is shipped along with the tracking information.
Booking, Payments & Refunds
- All transactions are handled safely and conveniently through PayPal on this website.
- 50% down is required at the time of purchase, and the remainder is to be paid in full once the portrait is completed and before it is shipped.
- Clients are contacted to verify the progress of the portrait at the midway point of completion. If satisfied, the portrait will be finished, otherwise a full refund will be offered.
- All commission requests must be mutually agreed upon before a payment is made.
- Consultations are necessary prior to solidifying a commission for the most satisfactory result.
